The Rogue Festival is a non-juried festival modeled after the fringe festivals which have become popular worldwide.
The Rogue celebrates the independent performer and artist by providing the opportunity to showcase works in a friendly, affordable, and creative setting.
The first Rogue Festival was powered by Theatre J'Nerique at the Sanctuary Stage Theater in March 2002 in downtown Fresno, California. This location offered two separate venues. The venues were called the Rogue Mainstage and the Rogue Cafe respectively. The first year attracted 16 performing companies and brought in an audience of about 1200 over a 6 day period.
The 2003 Rogue was moved to the historical and cultural Tower District of Fresno, CA. The Rogue Mainstage was housed at the Starline Performance Venue and the Rogue Cafe was hosted under a tent on the patio of the Veni Vidi Vici bistro. The 2003 Rogue brought in over 25 performing groups and doubled the attendance of the previous year.
Both the Rogue Mainstage and the Rogue Cafe are components of the Rogue Performance Festival. Performers for the Performance Festival are chosen on an application first-come-first-serve criteria. Performers pay an entry fee and are provided several performance slots from which they are given 100 percent of the box office receipts for their show.
The 2004 Rogue promises
to be bigger and better than the two previous years. For 2004 we are adding
the
Rogue Gallery 
, which
will showcase the visual arts, as well as, the
Electric Rogue
that will showcase performing bands.

another component to the Festival -- the
Rogue
Film Festival
.
The Rogue will grow into a Festival that will encompass every aspect of the arts. Be a part of it!
