PROMO

“Just because you have rehearsed a show for the last 6 weeks… don’t expect anyone to  turn up for it… unless they’ve been told about it… at least 3, 4 or 20 times!”

Now lets get down to how YOU promo the heck out of your show… Remember, the audience has over 30 acts to choose from in the festival… how do you get a full house at yours?

What you need for yourself and your company.

You are strongly encouraged to do your own promotion for your show in the Rogue Festival. All printed media must include mention of:

·         The Rogue Performance Festival 2004.

·         Dates, Times & Price of your performance

·         Address to the festival venue.

The Rogue logo is made available to all participants for their printed media. You will be able to capture a digital version BY CLICKING HERE! The image will be in JPEG format. All you have to do is use the copy and paste function to capture the image for your own use. The page also has some nifty linked banners for your web page or site.

Printed Media

Your printed media will be displayed at every Rogue Performance Festival venue. In January we will also post a list on the performer info that includes Rogue friendly businesses in the city. If you have a lead… please let us know.

We recommend printed media, sizes and amounts:

Posters (8.5x11 inches) (50 prints min.)

Flyers (4.25 x 5.5 inches) (500 prints min.)

These are relatively inexpensive to create and may be used either to hand out or to mail. You may want to use 2 different stocks of paper for these different purposes. 4.25x5.5 cards can be mailed for the postcard rate of 21 cents per piece.

Make your design of your flyer/poster eye-catching and informative. For a longer description you may want to create a double sided flyer.

Different grades of paper can be found for reasonable prices at OfficeMax, Office Depot, Paper Plus, and Kinko’s.

Whether you have a performance or not that day, you are also encouraged to hand out flyers before and after shows.

Even MORE Tips for a successful Rogue run

PROMOTE YOUR FELLOW PARTICIPANT’S SHOW AFTER YOURS IS DONE!

ARTIST HELPING ARTIST IS WHAT THE FESTIVAL IS ALL ABOUT!

* BE AGGRESSIVE!
"There are so many fabulous shows to see at every fringe festival. If you want an audience at yours, you must become shamelessly self-promoting. Tell every waitress, every shoe salesperson, every cabby and every single person you meet about your show. While it may seem silly to wander the streets in orange wigs, striped tights and tutus, when we do it our eye catching ensembles are excellent advertising. People are instantly curious about what we’re doing (Francis Ford Coppola even stopped us to ask for a flyer!)."
