BYOV: ROGUE PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL 2005

PARTICIPATION
The Rogue Performance Festival 2005 is an open, non-juried, festival. The Rogue is committed to an artist’s right to produce work without the judgment of a jury process and without fear of censure. The only constraints on material or content are the consideration of the health and safety of all those involved, including staff, artists, volunteers and audiences. As an applicant you are given the choice of three different Festival categories within which to participate, each with a separate application process:

BYOV (BRING YOUR OWN VENUE) APPLICATION
BYOV applicants secure their own performance space and determine the number of performances. There is no time limit on their performances.

A BYOV ('Bring Your Own Venue') is a site-specific performance project submitted by performers who have found or created their own venue for their production.  BYOV's grow out of the artists' need to create new and innovative work that can't be fully realized within the constraints of a regular Rogue venue (because of size, setup and running time, technical requirements, etc.).

BYOV participants are responsible for providing their own, lighting & sound equipment, technical staff, box-office staff, front house staff, in an audience safe venue.

The Rogue provides a listing in our Rogue Map program, website, and any festival promotional material to the media. It also works with the group in an advisory capacity. Performance dates and times are determined jointly by the applicant and The Rogue.

The inclusive nature of the BYOV is also designed to allow established companies with their own venues to be included as part of the run of the Rogue Festival.

ELIGIBILITY
Any individual or company is eligible to apply as a BYOV participant in the Rogue and may apply as a BYOV show prior to the December 4th deadline.

If two or more companies with separate show titles are sharing a BYO venue, each company must apply with separate applications. By sharing a venue each company will receive a 25% discount on their application fee.

All applications must have a company name, primary and secondary contact. If an individual/company has been found submitting more than one application, ALL applications submitted by that individual/company will be removed from the application process. The primary and secondary contacts of a company cannot be the contacts for a second company applying to The Rogue Performance Festival.

OUT-OF-AREA PARTICIPANTS
Out-of-Area Participants, like locals are responsible for all aspects of production, as well as travel and accommodation expenses.

PUBLICITY
Each participating individual or company is expected to provide its own show-specific publicity. The Rogue provides general Festival publicity and your production will be listed in the official Rogue Map program guide and on our website (www.roguefestival.com) and all festival promotional materials sent to the media.

Companies will be asked to submit copies of your press kit (photos, releases, bios…) to the Rogue publicist by December 18, 2004. IF YOU HAVE ANY PHOTOS OR PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL NOW, PLEASE SUBMIT THEM WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Digital media preferred if possible. Please submit photos in JPEG or TIFF formats (at least 300 DPI) and text in .TXT, RTF, or DOC formats.

 APPLICATION
Below is a Rogue Performance Festival application. In order for your application to be processed:
* All questions on the application form must be answered in full
* Applications must include 2 separate checks or money orders
* 1 for the application fee (BYO Venue $100)
* 1 for the non-refundable $10 processing fee.
* Checks or money orders should be made payable to Rogue Festival.

CONFIRMATION
As we receive a complete Rogue application, we will deposit the non-refundable processing fee check of $10.00 (it must be a separate check). If the application fee check bounces, the application will be removed until we receive the application fee in cash along with applicable bank fees before December 18th, 2004
.
