Art work of Enrique Lopez www.valleyartbox.com
Enrique Lopez is a full time artist who lives in Fresno, California. He was born and raised in Delano, California. He attended Fresno State University and graduated in 1982 with a B. A. in Fine Arts. His earliest exposures to art were the stained glass windows, religious icons, and paintings of the Catholic church that he attended as a child. This influence is still noticeable in his style. Although this religious art may have left an imprint, Enrique Lopez infuses his paintings with a unique and personal use of color. Enrique’s preferred medium is oil. He also works well in other media such as watercolor, prisma pencil and print making. Enrique’s early works dealt mostly with social political issues. Today his paintings explore his Latino heritage and issues from his psyche. Currently his oil paintings reflect an interest in Magic realism. “Each painting is an experiment in which I explore different styles in order to discover the best way to express my ideas. I hope that someday this creative process will assist me in discovering what style of painting I like to do best. Until then, I will continue to enjoy my journey.” - Enrique Lopez
