What is the Rogue?

How does it work?

What can I see?

Should I be on time?

Can I read an excerpt of something?

Will Giselle and William’s love of community

 theatre bring them together?

What is the Rogue? ( and why should you care?)

The Rogue Performance Festival returns this year with an even bigger celebration of independent theatre, dance, storytelling, music and film to California's Central Valley

This unique and dynamic event is like no other in this area.

The Rogue is about celebrating the ARTS! It is about providing performing artists a low cost, high profile opportunity to showcase

experimental and polished works! It is about providing audiences an affordable chance to sample a variety of theatrical and performance styles!

This year the festival moves to Fresno's cultural and historical Tower District.

The Rogue Mainstage will be housed at the STARLINE Performance Venue at 833 Fern Street and the Rogue Cafe will be hosted at VENI VIDI VICI at 1116 Fulton Street

Added to this is the establishment of LIVINGSTONE'S PUB & GRILL at 831 Fern as Rogue Central where you the audience can catch a bite to eat and a beverage while chatting with performers between and after shows.

Once again 100% of the box-office receipts go to the performers.

And once again every performance will begin ON TIME.  (See Rules of the Rogue )

How does it work?

WHERE?

The 2003 Rogue Performance Festival will take place in 2 venues.

The venues are called THE MAINSTAGE and THE ROGUE CAFÉ.  Both venues offer a wide variety of performances guaranteed

to titillate the senses, intellect and taste.

WHAT?

Find a ROGUE MAP available at both of the venues or go to www.roguefestival.com or its mirror site at www. geocities.com/roguefestival

You will be able to check out the companies and performers and read a short description of what they are doing, the times, the venues they are playing at and how much it costs.

WHEN? HOW MUCH?

Then turn up ON TIME, pay the LOW admission price... and enjoy. The fun is to bounce between venues

and watch as many shows as possible! With a maximum charge of $5 per show on the MAINSTAGE and $3 per show at the ROGUE CAFE... how can you go wrong!!!!

WHY? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WHY?

…Why not?

REMEMBER that there are four more days after FEBRUARY  28TH covering that weekend and the next in which to see many, many more shows. Pick up your ROGUE MAP at Veni Vidi Vici’s, the Starline, Livingstone’s Pub or the Landmark restaurant (all located in the historic Tower District) for an exhaustive schedule of all of the performances or go to  ourwebsite: www.roguefestival.com ,or its mirror site: www.geocities.com/roguefestival

   RULES OF THE ROGUE

All performances will begin on time. Latecomers will not be allowed into the venues once the performance has begun. NO EXCEPTIONS

Please arrive early, the performers have worked hard on their performances and it is RUDE and INCONSIDERATE and very PROVINCIAL to show disrespect for their efforts... it breaks concentration and affects a performance drastically. Ticket sales for each performance will begin 30 minutes before showtime, which brings us to our next rule:

 2. ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. No Refunds, no exchanges, and no

excuses. (audience tip: Please arrive early. Ticket prices are cheap and 100% of the box-office sales go to the artists and performers.)

3. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE GENERAL ADMISSION SEATING. (audience tip: Please arrive early. This way you can get the best seats in the house.)

4. ONE MORE TIME!

NO LATE SEATING out of

respect for other patrons and the performers.

NO LATE SEATING at ANY Rogue show, in ANY venue, for ANY reason, not even with a ticket.

NO LATE SEATING no matter who you are or how

hard you tried to be on time .(audience tip: Please arrive early.)

And now for something completely inept and irresponsible, an excerpt from Pandermonium: Green Card Envy:

William: Giselle, I have three words for you- Meryl Streep.

Giselle: Really? You really think so? Oh man, she’s my personal hero.

William: And your loving brother…Peter Deluis…he missed it!

Jason: That’s right, he did. He got what he deserved.

Giselle: You’re right! He never appreciated my career! Just because I was doing a lot of community theatre…he called it…he called it…

Jason: What did he call it?

Giselle: He called what I did…a hobby!

Jason: A hobby? He called your career a hobby?!

William: Oh, the rampant ignorance of it all!

Jason: Did he realize that great things come out of community theatre?

Giselle: They do?

William: Like what?

Jason: Like…er…Annie! Annie started as a community theatre production. I saw it on an A & E special the other night. And that’s what it said.

Giselle: You’re right! I’m with you guys! Where are the guns!

William: Duffel bag! (Giselle exits)…Hey, was that true about Annie?
