WHAT IS THE ROGUE?

The Rogue Performance Festival is now in its THIRD year! This non-juried, non-curated festival is a Celebration of Independent Performance and Art showcasing a variety of disciplines including theatre, dance, music, puppetry, story-telling, spoken word, visual art and film in Fresno, California.

This year we have added more venues!

This year we have added more components including Visual Arts & Film!

This is a non-juried festival - that simply means that no stuffy-so-called-expert is going to decide what is good or what you should see.  We at the Rogue believe that you the paying audience can decide that for yourself. (see The Rogue Is Interactive... below.)

We hope you enjoy the festival and support its return next year.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Get a ROGUE MAP... or just go to the Rogue Shows link on this site. Now check out the companies and performers and read a short description of what they are doing, the times, the venues they are playing at and how much it cost. Then turn up ON TIME, pay the LOW admission price... and enjoy. The fun is to bounce between venues and watch as many shows as possible! With a maximum charge of $6 per show on the MAINSTAGE and $3 per show at the ROGUE CAFE... how can you go wrong!!!! And the GALLERIES are FREE... unless there are performances scheduled!

Please Note: The Rogue Performance Festival is a non-juried, non-curated festival and probably has something for everyone... but not everything is for everyone. We have asked the performers to rate themselves... so please pay attention to these ratings!

Also note that the Rogue Mainstage at Club Fred is an OVER 21 venue. Please respect this.

THE ROGUE IS INTERACTIVE!

* You can read and write your own review of a show you have seen at the festival! Every show listed here will have a "Review This Show" and "Read Reviews Of This Show" buttons. Note: These buttons will only be activated when the Festival actually begins.

* You can view pictures of the festival! When we get 'em... we'll post 'em.

* You can read the Rogue Report-the festival newsletter online!

* You can find out how to become a Rogue Performer for the 2005 festival!

* You can join our e-mailing list to get updates and news! Get regular Updates by joining our Rogue Festival E-Mailing list by sending an e-mail to roguenews-subscribe@topica.com

RULES OF THE ROGUE (and tips for the audience)

1. ALL PERFORMANCES WILL BEGIN ON TIME! Certain performers & companies will allow late-comers up to 15 minutes into the show and certain companies will not. This will be indicated in this Rogue Map, this site and at the venues. ( audience tip: Please arrive early. The performers have worked hard on their pieces and it is RUDE, INCONSIDERATE and very PROVINCIAL to show disrespect for their efforts... it breaks concentration and affects a performance drastically! )

2. TICKET SALES FOR EACH PERFORMANCE WILL BEGIN HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE BEGINS! ( audience tip: Please arrive early.Which brings us to our next rule...)

* THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE ABOVE IS BUYING A ROGUE READY PASS!  A Rogue Ready Pass buys you into 12 Rogue Shows of your choice for only $50... a potential $22 savings! Rogue Ready Passes are available for purchase at ALL Rogue Performance Venues and at Livingstone's in the Tower District as well as Javawava in front of Fresno High. ONLY 100 available! ( audience tip: Please arrive early. Buy a Pass. Rule # 1 STILL APPLIES. )

3. ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. No Refunds, no exchanges, and no excuses.   ( audience tip: Please arrive early. Ticket prices are cheap and 100% of the box-office sales go to the artists and performers. )

4. ALL PERFORMANCES ARE GENERAL ADMISSION SEATING. ( audience tip: Please arrive early. This way you can get the best seats in the house. )

5. ROGUE TIME IS THE OFFICIAL TIME! Official ROGUE CLOCKS are on display in front of ALL Performance Venues. ( audience tip: Please arrive early. You also may want to sync your watches to ROGUE TIME so that you can plan your entertainment day and not miss a show. )
